„Vaše dítě má autismus. Prognóza je s otazníkem. Připravte se, že to bude těžké a rovnou si začněte hledat ústav“. To je věta, kterou ještě stále slyší většina rodičů poté, kdy je jejich dítěti konečně, často i po mnoha letech, stanovena správná diagnóza. Systematická pomoc ze strany státu neexistuje. V naší společnosti chybí tolerance, respekt a ochota pomáhat. Rodiče dětí i mladých dospělých s autismem se o své zkušenosti a vesměs smutné příběhy podělili tento týden na konferenci „Autismus v kontextu občana, rodiny a společnosti“, která proběhla pod záštitou Výboru pro sociální politiku poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu ČR.
