Ochránce společně se svým Poradním orgánem sleduje plnění Úmluvy o právech osob se zdravotním postižením na vnitrostátní úrovni. Úmluva k nahlédnutí zde, upravená a snadno srozumitelná forma Úmluvy zde.
Členové Poradního orgánu získávají podněty od osob se zdravotním postižením, organizací hájících jejich práva a od pečujících osob a tyto podněty zasílají přímo ochránkyni.
Členkou Poradního orgánu ochránce je Mgr. Milena Urbanová, místopředsedkyně spolku Autisté jihu a ředitelka organizace Auticentrum, o.p.s., proto i jí můžete adresovat podněty ohledně porušování práv osob se zdravotním postižením v jakékoliv oblasti jejich života, např. vzdělávání, svéprávnost, sociální služby, zaměstnání, zdravotnictví, bydlení), email: autiste.jihu@atlas.cz, mob. 777 328 211.
V návaznosti na tyto podněty stanovuje ochránce priority a systémová témata, která je třeba v oblasti ochrany práv osob se zdravotním postižením řešit.
